Yeah, I have an interview for it tomorrow.

At least I’m getting looked at this time! Then again, so are three of my coworkers and several interns. I’m crossing everything I get it, but realistically, I’m not sure I have a fighting chance.

Either way, fingers crossed! It’s my first big girl interview, so to speak, where I’m interviewing for my dream job.

Applied for another vacancy at my zoo. There are three positions needing to be filled and they seem to not be considering anyone internal for any of them. It kills me, because my latest job is IN the animal department. I should be a shoe in for any vacancy, but a change in management, high up, has kept it from happening that anyone inside the zoo, intern, employee, or volunteer, gets a shot.

You have no idea how frustrating it is to watch keepers get hired who don’t have an attachment to the zoo come in and get hired when I’ve been at my zoo nearly three years.

I’m whiny tonight, tumblr. But I’m absolutely gutted that I can’t make one job turn into another.

This evening I got a phone call for an internship interview on O'ahu. Not with marine mammals, though I could volunteer at SLP with birds on my off day. It's an education internship working with kids, so basically what I do for work already. The perks? Free room and borad and food, plus use of a vehicle on days off AND a nearly $300/month stipend. I MUST get this. I need to go "home" again.

So today there was some big event wherein animals we don’t have on property were brought in to my zoo for a few hours. So today, for the first time ever, I could technically say we have giraffes. Er, giraffe. I ended up getting to stop by as this guy was being loaded up. I. Love. My. Job. OMG.
